Today, House Permanent Select Committee on Intelligence Chairman Mike Turner (OH-10) and Ranking Member Jim Himes (CT-04) issued the following statement:

“With the election season in full swing, our adversaries are once again attempting to influence our electoral process and to sow discord and chaos. The cyberattacks against both major presidential campaigns conducted by Iranian actors, as revealed by the ODNI, FBI, and CISA, highlight the need for increased vigilance from all quarters in the coming months. 

“The Intelligence Community is working diligently and professionally to combat foreign interference so that policymakers and the public understand their tactics and malign intentions. As the Chairman and Ranking Member of the House Intelligence Committee, we are committed to bolstering these efforts and have scheduled a classified update for the Committee in September.”
