Today, House Permanent Select Committee on Intelligence Chairman Mike Turner (OH-10) issued the following statement after it was reported that the Federal Bureau of Investigation is investigating the attack during New Year's Eve celebrations in New Orleans as an act of terror:

“Please join me in praying for the victims and their families and in thankfulness for the bravery of local law enforcement that saved lives by putting themselves in danger.

“During this investigation, we will learn what mistakes were made that in the future can help us prevent terrorists from harming our loved ones.”
