Turner Statement on Israel-Hamas Hostage Deal

Today, House Permanent Select Committee on Intelligence Chairman Mike Turner (OH-10) issued the following statement regarding the reported agreement between Israel and Hamas to release hostages held in Gaza: “Today’s announcement of a hostage deal between Israel and Hamas marks a significant breakthrough that will hopefully reunite hostages with their loved ones after 15 months of unimaginable hardship in captivity. “This agreement would not have been possible without President-elect Trump’s steadfast commitment to his foreign policy principle of ‘peace through strength.’ “While this is a critical step forward, it serves as a reminder that our work is far from over. Every effort must continue until all hostages are returned safe and sound. “The United States must also continue to support Israel as it defends against terror to ensure that another October 7th attack never occurs again.” |
