Chairman Crawford Congratulates FBI Director Kash Patel For Immediate Release: Contact Janet Rossi (janet.rossi@mail.house.gov) February 20, 2025 Washington, D.C. – House Permanent Select Committee on Intelligence Chairman Rick Crawford (AR-01) made the following statement congratulating Mr. Kash Patel on his confirmation as Director of the Federal Bureau of Investigation: “I want to congratulate Mr. Patel on his confirmation today. Director Patel has served America in the Department of Justice, the U.S. House of Representatives, the Department of Defense, and the National Security Council, and now he will lead the FBI into a brighter future. Having had the opportunity to work with him closely when he was a highly regarded lawyer on the House Intelligence Committee, I know he truly understands the critical need for Intelligence Community (IC) reform. The IC has, for too long, been unaccountable to Congress; making it unaccountable to the American voter. That cannot continue. Director Patel’s history as a public defender and as a Congressional investigator, pushing back on the heavy hand of the federal government and bureaucratic groupthink, will shed much needed light on the problems within the IC. As I’ve said many times before, our national security depends on a strong, accountable, and respected IC that is trusted by the American people. I look forward to working with Director Patel to restore that trust,” said Chairman Crawford. |
