Chairman Mike Rogers today praised the selection of U.S. Rep. C. A. “Dutch” Ruppersberger (D-MD) to serve as the Ranking Member of the House Permanent Select Committee on Intelligence (HPSCI).  Rep. Ruppersberger has served on the HPSCI for eight years.

“I welcome Dutch’s selection to serve as the Committee’s Ranking Member,” said Committee Chairman Mike Rogers.  “Dutch is a solid leader.  His dedication and talent will serve the Committee and country well.  I look forward to working with Dutch to foster the strong bipartisan energy we need to lead this Committee in our oversight responsibilities and to keep America safe.  And it never hurts to have a former prosecutor on your team,” said Chairman Rogers, a former FBI agent.

Chairman Rogers called Congressman Ruppersberger this morning to welcome his selection as Ranking Member.

Congressman C. A. “Dutch” Ruppersberger has previously served as Chairman of the HPSCI Subcommittee on Technical and Tactical Intelligence.  Additionally, he has previously served on the Terrorism, Human Intelligence, Analysis, and Counterintelligence Subcommittee and the Oversight and Investigations Subcommittee.  Congressman Ruppersberger is from the 2nd District of Maryland and the National Security Agency is in his district.
