WASHINGTON, D.C.— House Permanent Select Committee on Intelligence Chairman Rick Crawford (AR-01) released the following statement in response to the U.S. Senate’s confirmation of Aaron Lukas as the Principal Deputy Director of National Intelligence. 

“Congratulations to Aaron on his confirmation to be Principal Deputy Director of National Intelligence. With over two decades of experience, he brings foundational knowledge paired with his operational background, making him a valuable addition to the ODNI leadership team. DNI Gabbard has been clear in her actions that she will follow through on her commitment to addressing the degradation of transparency within the Intelligence Community, as well as instilling a culture of accountability. To do so, the DNI must trust she has those in her leadership team who share that commitment. I do not doubt that Aaron does. As I said at his confirmation hearing, what our Intelligence Community needs today is more leadership from Arkansas. I look forward to working with Aaron in his new capacity to ensure the Intelligence Community is set on the path to rebuild trust with the American people.”
