House Intelligence Committee Files Interim Amendment to Cyber Security Bill The House Permanent Select Committee on Intelligence (HPSCI) today provided a draft Amendment in the Nature of a Substitute to the House Rules Committee today to serve as base text for potential amendments to the Cyber Intelligence Sharing and Protection Act (H.R. 3523), as announced by the Rules Committee today. This draft amendment is the discussion draft of the bill that was posted on the HPSCI website on April 16, 2012, and is a necessary parliamentary step before proceeding to floor action next week. Chairman Rogers and Ranking Member Ruppersberger remain committed to continuing to work with all interested parties to continue to improve the bill. Any further agreed changes to the bill would be proposed as amendments when the bill reaches the floor next week. The Committee anticipates posting possible amendments on the HPSCI website as soon as they are available. -30- |
